Hyakko Episode 3! Not Solo Review!

I want one...

I want one... I wonder if it can do chores too...

Minnie: Great news guys! Koala bear is back! And he has a lot of catching up to do. I guess this is the benefit of watching it the minute it comes out eh? I have 10 animes to watch- 9 of which I’m blogging and I don’t feel weigh down at all. Thank you for slow fansub groups! I hope Koala bear doesn’t read all the comments I made about him during his absence… ANYWAYS! Unlike the last episode of Hyakko in which I’m so-so on, I like this one a lot. You’ll see why.

Garrick: Yes, I am back. Go me.

Minnie: We start off the episode with our fabulous Torako who finds out from class rep Nene Andou or the nickname that’s been around the internet Bi-chan (you’ll see why) that she was made moral inspector for missing the first day of school (this is what happens when you get lost). Bi-chan is an interesting character because she’s very showy with her clothes. My first impression? Miss High and Mighty. Because of her job, Torako is forced to check school uniforms alongside Bi-chan, who is only participating so she has a higher chance of becoming student president. Even though these students who are not wearing the correct uniform should be punished, they are often only given a warning at best.

Minnie: The next scene goes through a list of female classmates who are not wearing the correct uniform. It is a pretty nice way to introduce the minor characters I say. First female student is Miss Delinquent, who scared both Torako and Bi-chan enough that they argue and even play rock-paper-sciccors to decide who will scold her. I must say out of the newbies so far, I like Miss Delinquent the most because of her actions, words, and character design. Next up include Miss Smiles, Miss Robot Girl, Miss Silent, Miss Giant, and the list continues. With each female student, Bi-chan seems to show more of her true colors. Out of all of them, the one who stands out the most is none other than Torako’s bestie Suzune, who is dressed for PE already. Bi-chan is finally discovered when Ayumi and Tatsuki arrive and she looks up Ayumi’s skirt. She admits to being bi right after, which is kind of dramatic and hilarious.

Garrick: Wow. I don’t know if I’ve laughed that hard for such a long period of time in a while. Firstly the delinquent, and the whole chain of things between Torako and Andou… Yeah. And my laughs don’t end there. Continuing on the characters, just seeing them made me laugh. Andou’s antics with the tall girl… ah, that made me laugh. And I’m not even mentioning Suzu’s gym outfit and the declaration that Andou’s bi. Because… well, it’s all the same thing. Hilarious to no end.

Minnie: OH NO! Torako and Tatsuki are confronted by a robot on their way to the infirmary! But… it’s controlled by Miss Robot Girl or Chie Suzugasaki who recently finished building or putting it together or something. There’s not much to say except that after Torako and Suzune saw it, Ayumi and Suzune come over and see it too. They all had the same reaction. XD All of them follow Miss Robot Girl to her club’s room (I guess?) where they learn that she wants to work for E-LECTRA, which also happens to be Tatsuki’s father’s company. Yeah. Tatsuki’s a daughter of a CEO. Fits doesn’t it? ^^;; After a bit of talking, Torako spots a robot head that can mimic phrases? Hm… now Torako wants to build a robot too…

Garrick: Oh, the turn this episode took. It’s awesome. They introduce robots?! And of course, it seems that they’ve also introduced another supporting character, Chie. The whole idea that Tatsuki’s the daughter of a CEO makes so much sense. They way she’s acted throughout the anime just totally supports that. And I swear, I totally called that Torako would want to make a robot too. It’s just in her character.

Minnie: The last few minutes of the episode is LMAO funny for me. The teacher is calling out attendance when suddenly he hears an odd “hear” after he asks for Torako. He confronts Torako only to find a robot wearing a wig similar to Torako’s hairstyle. You can bet how pissed off he was. The rest of the class are laughing at this, especially Bi-Chan and Miss Smiles. We get to see a short scene of Torako and who I assume is a male student on a date. Anyways, the teacher is furious and kicks the robot, causing it to explode much to Chie’s dismay. The very last scene is another day with attendance again. This time, Torako is here but… “HERE” says that voice again. Now, the one who is replaced is none other than Suzune! What a terrific end!

Garrick: There’s not much more I need to say. LMAO is understating it. As an episode on a whole… I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard. Ever.

Minnie: Unlike the last two episode, this one is LMAO funny and I am glad to see its spark back and running! There is a lot of precious Torako in this episode which makes me so happy since she’s my favorite character in this anime. I want to see more of the side characters as well because they are all so unique in their character designs and personalities thus far. In other words, colorful characters make me very happy. I am starting to look forward to this anime more thanks to this episode.

Hakushaku Episode 3~ Solo

Please stop teasing the fans like this T__T
Please stop teasing the fans like this T_T

Minnie: Next to ToA, The Earl and the Fairy is my second most anticipated show. I love m33w because they have such quality subs and best of all, they finish the job within 3-4 days exactly like they promise they would. They also give us updates, unlike other fansubs. Anyways, Episode 3 is here and from what I gather from the RAW I watched on Thursday, this episode is going to be another awesome episode with lots of Edgar/Lydia teasing as well as Raven/Edgar teasing?! Let’s see how this episode goes all right? Hopefully, I won’t be disappointed like I am with Akasaka. Sorry to drop it too…

Minnie: Because I didn’t write this review while I watch the episode, I will be missing quite a number of minor details but oh well, that’s fine right? I am pretty tired today so yeah. The episode starts out with Raven returning to his Master and they have a touching scene together where Edgar welcomes him back. The fairies nearby want to return to the island so they allow Nico to arrange for them to be on the boat along with Lydia, Edgar, and Raven. Unfortunately for Lydia, she’s a bit seasick and is staying at an inn in the next scene. Overall, the talk between Edgar and the innkeeper is very interesting, especially the part about the merrow swallowing up all those Earl imposters.

Minnie: After Raven and the innkeeper leave, Lydia notices a fairy and helps the cute thing out the door with the help of lemon water. We get a couple of interesting shots in which we see it from Edgar’s POV, which also means, we are seeing nothing where the fairy is supposed to be. It’s even more amusing to see Edgar dropping droplets of water for the fairy and imagining where it must be. Because of this fairy, it starts up a conversation between Edgar and Lydia about how this is the first time Lydia talks so much about fairies to anyone outside her family. She even admits that even though she dislikes him because he’s a liar, she can’t help but help him since she is easily tricked by his charms. There’s no trust here but at the same time, there is. It’s an interesting relationship. Besides, we get to watch Edgar makes his move on Lydia by talking about her hair. He is about to taste her lips (I assume) when Raven interrupts with dinner. Yes, Raven, “bloody brilliant timing there”! Lmao!

Minnie: When Raven and Edgar talk alone, Edgar mentions about Lydia and how honest, innocent, and good-natured she was. He also calls himself a “bad guy” and that since his whole life is a lie, he is afraid that she is able to see through his deception with her eyes. In his words, he only has true lies and fake lies. This is very interesting. Raven asks Edgar if he is willing to tell Lydia the whole truth but he says he cannot risk it since he has already lost Ermine. We get to know a bit more about Ermine through this conversation. She pampered him in the past for example. Anyways, Edgar ends it by asking Raven to escort Lydia back to her room. Lydia’s been eavesdropping this time, accidentally I assume.

Minnie: I really like the scene between Lydia and Raven. At first, she’s afraid that he will kill her. However, he quickly apologizes and after some questioning, admits that it not benefit anyone to kill her. He reveals that Edgar never asks him to kill anyone. Instead, he kills all Edgar’s enemies for his master as part of his instinct- the sprite within him. Lydia proceeds to ask Raven if anyone can be his master in which he replies if she would accept him like Edgar to him. Can she teach him to tell right from wrong? To him from killing? This leaves Lydia speechless and the next scene is cut to morning where Raven and Lydia/Edgar split up. Here, we get more teasing from Edgar to Lydia, in which she accidentally spills about Ermine. Up to this point, Lydia assumes that Ermine is Edgar’s lover, but Edgar waves that off and says that Ermine is Raven’s sister. Then, Lydia says that everyone around Edgar must be very happy. He asks her if she has wings. She tells him he’s not that much of a bad guy.

Minnie: The two of them are close to figuring out the puzzle when they are interrupted by Huskley again. Huskley asks Edgar to release Lydia, in which Edgar tells Lydia that Huskley is even more dangerous than he. Raven comes to the rescue so the two of them escape- only to bump into Lydia’s father. Thinking that Edgar is the kidnapper, Lydia’s father demands he releases his daughter but much to his surprise, Edgar reveals that he is in fact courting his daughter and wants to ask his permission for her hand in marriage. Lydia’s father calls her a tomboy. XD That’s awesome. Anyways, Huskley catches up to them. He wants to shoot Edgar but Professor Carlton leaps on him and stops him from this. Finally, Huskley throws him off, only to struggle with Edgar instead. Nico tells Lydia to run despite her father and Edgar. A single gunshot is heard and that is the end of the episode, unless you count the preview where you see Lydia meet up with a hound.

Minnie: Again, another golden episode. I love the pacing of Hakushaku because it’s neither too fast or too slow. It reveals a lot about the characters each episode. It has a bit of action thrown in with all the dialogue. Best of all, I always enjoy the Lydia/Raven or Edgar scenes because they are so cute. My OTP is Edgar/Lydia but I wouldn’t mind her with Raven either. Lydia’s as adorable as ever because she’s so naive and innocent. I bet you anything that even if we won’t have sex scene, there will be a scene somewhere later on where Edgar kisses her cheek after her hair. Edgar’s confrontation with Lydia’s father is the best! I really adore that scene! The fact that Edgar admits that he himself is a bad person, only to have Lydia disagree a scene later makes it so romantic. Plus, I can’t forget that hint of jealousy at the mention of Ermine later. ;) I love this anime!

AkaSaka Episode 4~ Solo for now!

I NEED MORE OF THESE TWO!

I NEED MORE OF THESE TWO! Seriously...

Minnie: Episode 4 is a turning point for me. Because of Episode 1, I thought this was one of my most anticipated shows. However, Episode 3 was a disappointment and proved that this show might go down the cliche route all the way. Yuuhi is starting to bug me as a character since Episode 3, making me wish for Jun to be with his sister Minato instead. This is bad news if these two are the ending pairing. Nevertheless, I am giving Episode 4 a chance. If it’s terrific, I’ll consider continue blogging this. If it disappoints, I’ll continue watching AkaSaka but I won’t blog it anymore. Koala bear, once he’s back, can make the decision of blogging this solo or stop blogging it as well if things turn out like that. Anyways, good luck Episode 4. My decision to blog this show or not depends on this episode!

Minnie: Yes! The episode starts with my favorite two- Nishino and Tsukasa. They are suspicious about why Yuuhi and Jun walk to class together and talk about playing video games late at night. Oh man. Those two teasing friends are so much fun. Then, we get a scene in which I bet indicate that Karen has a thing for Jun. She wants to invite her classmates to a party but Jun declines. Everyone has a crush on Jun eh? In order to get Jun to go, Karen meets up with his sister Minato and thanks to Minato’s convincing, Jun ends up going. Since Karen tells them to come in casual clothes, the group of classmates invited feel they don’t belong. However, Karen comes to the rescue and allow the girls to choose any dress they like from her closet. I’m going to skip this part in my blogging since it’s basically pointless chatter among girls. But yeah, Nishino and Jun are dressed up now as well as they watch the ladies’ man they call their Sensei.

I'm a girl and not lez but this is a priceless shot...

I'm a girl and not lez but this is a priceless shot...

Minnie: Urm. Yeah. Jun/Minato for the win. XP After Jun oggles his sister, the other girls come and even force Nishino to tell them they look pretty. Anyways, after the group go on, Jun blushes after seeing Minato in an “immodest” dress and fights within himself against temptation. He goes up to Minato and tells her to wear something to cover her top and obedient, little sister agrees. Karen comes up and gets picked up surrounded by guys, flattering her to death. Skipping the girl chat in the bathroom and the kitchen scene that proves that Yuuhi can’t cook, Karen demands for the dishes but since they’re not ready yet, she goes on to make a fool of herself by telling lousy jokes entertain her guests. Meanwhile, Minato is working in the kitchen with two pretty helpers when Nago Nago brings in some rare tuna. Okay… By the way, I’m still not used to Minato’s voice when she’s not sounding cute. Ugh…

Minnie: Forgetting Karen for now, Yuuhi finds herself with these males who think they’re the bomb. But of course, being a lady and all, Yuuhi tells them off and walks off. I like Yuuhi right here though I can see her getting into a lot of trouble at this rate. Minato proves herself a wonderful cook once again as they finish up the last of the menu. She overdid herself this time around by even putting on a dissecting tuna show in front of the guest. Panty shot here as well. But yeah, Karen thinks she’s beaten by a tuna and so, doesn’t feel well and plans to win them over with “Plan B”. Sounds interesting. Plan B turns out to be Karen beating up a guy in an octopus suit. The audience and her friends are not impressed. I am not either. It’s a bad idea for the guy in the suit to choose to pick on Yuuhi because she’s already scared to deah. Worse, she accidentally turn on the fireworks finale and causes the ship to catch on fire. This is quite a dramatic turn.

Minnie: As much as I would have liked to see Jun rescues Karen and leaves with her, instead he finds out his sister and fiancee are still inside the smoke-filled ship when everyone else is out of harm’s way. Jun finds Minato first and hugs her immediately, causing her to blush. Then, he tells her to escape while he searches for Yuuhi. By the time he catches sight of her, she is drenched from the sparklers that went on at the smoke. Frightened, Yuuhi tackles Jun into a hug despite her calling him baka. The day ends with everyone’s out of harm’s way and back in school. Her classmates reassures Karen that the party was great and fun. Happily, she invites them to another one in the future, which her classmates don’t react to quite too well.

Minnie: This episode is all right. More fun stuff. Though, I didn’t laugh at all. I don’t like a lot of things about this episode but I do like a couple of interactions here and there. Overall, I wouldn’t say it’s as bad as the last episode but it’s still not that great. I think I am getting tired of this show and how it’s carrying on its popularity with its VA’s. Admittedly, I like Rie’s ladylike voice a lot but Ayano’s voice for Minato doesn’t work for me. When Minato is serious, no. When Minato is cute, yes. I used to love all the characters but at this point, most of them become stereotypical. I don’t know if I want to blog this anymore. I’ll still watch because I love Tsukasa and Minato. But Jun’s pissing me off and Yuuhi has her ups and downs. Sigh. Even though I want Minato to be Jun’s real sister, I still want her to be with him. Is that bad? In summary, good points: Tsukasa and Jun/Minato’s moments; bad points: Karen and everything else.

Full Metal Alchemist Season 2 Confirmed! Hatsukoi Limited Animated!

Full Metal Alchemist is back!

Full Metal Alchemist is back!

Minnie: I have great news to report to all of you anime fans. Full Metal Alchemist Season 2 is confirmed by the mangaka and that it will premier in April 2009 if everything goes according to plans. For those of you who don’t know, I’ve only give 10/10 to 7 animes on myanimelist.net account. FMA is one of those worthy of a 10. There are a lot of reasons why FMA is so awesome besides the intense storyline- Mustang and Hawkeye as one of my favorite ships ever and the fact that Vic Mignagnon is a fabulous Ed Elric voice actor! This news makes me so happy that I want April to be here already. I want to cry out of happiness. :) Hopefully, Season 2 will hold up its prior popularity and reputation! I welcome you back Vic!!

Minnie: One of the most interesting manga I have read up to date is none other than Hatsukoi Limited by the same mangaka as Ichigo 100%. Why is this manga so amazing? Every single chapter features a new character that is somehow related to the one before it. Chapter 1 might be this blonde girl but Chapter 2 will be the guy she has a crush on and Chapter 3 might be about the guy’s older brother or something like that and it continues like that. This format is very confusing at first but very rewarding if you keep up. Once you past all the characters chapters, the main storyline comes together in such a cool fashion. If there is ever such thing as a web of relationships, this manga definitely has it. It’s like one large cast of students in a teen soap opera! Haha. I am very happy and very much looking forward to its animated adaption!
