The Writers at Hey, Say, Anime presents our 2009 Introductions!

66Hsa: Hello everyone! My name is HSA or the personification of Hey, Say, Anime! Even though Hey, Say, Anime has only existed for over three months, we have been very active. Moreover, the blog has been growing rapidly, both with post counts and members. Many of you have been with us since the beginning. However, the rest have only discovered us recently. Therefore, it is my job to introduce you to the members of this ever growing blog! Round robin time?!

66Hsa: Before everyone gets a chance to personally know your favorite blogger, I’ll throw out a stat list first. And no, you may not have their home phone numbers and home addresses.

66Hsa: That’s a lot of people! Where do I start? What should I ask first? Who should I ask first?

nataliaminnieMinnie: Since this is an anime team blog, how about you ask anime related and blog related questions?

66Hsa: Nice idea MinMin. My first question is… how did everyone even discover anime/manga in the first place? Cookies to anyone who can name who I am.

j1qn3Steve: You are Arche from Tales of Phantasia.

66Hsa: Steve gets the first cookie!

nataliaminnieMinnie: Aw lucky Steve! Anyways, Richie should start first since he’s the newest member on our team.

123rRichie: Dubbed anime. Yeah, we’ve all been there. I in particular watched Sailor Moon.

j1qn3Steve: My relatives gave me Sailor Moon DVDs for Christmas even though I’m a boy. I loved anime ever since. Richie, I’m glad I am not the only boy caught with Sailor Moon as his first anime. Thank God!

123rRichie: Yep, I’m not embarrassed to admit that I’ve actually sung the theme song as a child! I was such a fan.

teargarrick1Garrick: Well, manga actually got me into anime. I was in Hawaii on a family trip in the summer of ’99, and found the two novels of Inu-Yasha, which I begged my parents to buy for me. How would they know that it would lead to the obsession with anime and manga I have now? I began watching Adult Swim… in ’07, I began watching fansubbed anime. And… here I am.

66Hsa: I can safely declare that Garrick here has a very strong memory of his first time. Inu-yasha is a classic indeed. How about you Taan?

aschtaanTaan: Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Digimon, Dragon Ball Z, Medabots, Card Captor Sakura, Flint the Time Detective, Detective Conan. I think that’s right. They’re the oldest ones I can remember in any case. There’s also my brother who was obsessed about Yue from Card Captors, which led him to be obsessed with albino characters, which led him to watch a lot more anime, which I watched with him. That’s all I want to reveal, anyways.

123rRichie: Omigosh Card Captors, I loved that anime so much as a child–though Sailor Moon came first. XD Sorry if I sound a bit intrusive, but what are Albino characters? O:

aschtaanTaan: Well the three I can think of off the top of my head are Aura (Project .hack ver.), Rei (from Eva of course), and Fluffy (A.K.A Sesshoumaru, from Inuyasha). I could tell you some funny stories, but I’m afraid that he’ll find this somehow and annihilate me first chance he gets.

66Hsa: I want to hear the funny stories… Anyways, I haven’t heard much from the ladies. How about the ladies answer the question next?

distMarissa: HARD QUESTION! GRRRRRRRRRR~~~~~ It’s definitely Dragon Ball. I love little Goku!

ionkattKatt: Oh, the regular things that got people of my old age into anime: Sailor Moon, Pokémon, and Digimon mostly.

nataliaminnieMinnie: Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Yu-gi-oh, and Dragonball. I can’t believe I forgot Digimon! Thanks TZM! Our answers are similar. You really are my twin. All dubbed of course. Need I say more?

ionkattKatt: Anytime, Minnie! You know, I would have said Yu-Gi-Oh! too, although that didn’t necessarily get me into anime… it just got me -further- into anime and the like. It was really the first series that pointed me toward manga and made me interested in the original Japanese versions of series.

76141c1f2b3a48ccfacd377mi8Duke: I am STILL a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh. For me, Pokemon at 6 am in the morning before elementary school.

123rRichie: Aww… Pokemon in the morning… That really, really brought a nostalgic moment back to my life. I feel like crying happy tears. *_*

guysparkleAngel: Pokemon too; my mom was randomly flipping through the channels and she told me to watch it and I loved it. She didn’t know I would cry for all of the games, cards, books, clothes, etc, lawl. She regrets exposing me to it. Then it was Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, FullMetal Alchemist, and Naruto. All dubbed.

nataliaminnieMinnie: Yay for Pokemon agreement! Oh wait. Duke lives with me so of course we will answer the question similarly. Go Angel then. XD

j1qn3Steve: Pokemon shall forever be remembered. Amen.

aschtaanTaan: Actually, though I don’t like to admit it, I’ve been watching the latest Pokemon series just cause I haven’t been able to get the diamond/pearl games.

66Hsa: *cough* Do try to stay on topic everyone. Jory dear?

mieu_altJory: My sister began reading Rave Master and soon introduced me to manga, leading me to discover a few series. I truly began to watch anime when I joined an online anime/manga/video game-themed trading card game, which expanded my knowledge of anime.

j1qn3Steve: Ah. I nearly forgot my love for pokemon cards and how that expanded my love for anime. Thanks for the reminder Jory.

aschtaanTaan: It was Yu-Gi-Oh cards for me. It’s one of my various obsessions now. I’ve got more cards than can fit in Kaiba’s suitcase and I’ve been keeping up with the new boosters, too. I didn’t actually care that much for the Yu-Gi-Oh anime until I started playing, and once that happened, I started getting into other anime much easier.

ionkattKatt: Wow Ta’an, that’s pretty intense! I collected both Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, but much more casually. The card games, the toys, the dolls and costumes and board games… they really show the commercialism that drew kids even further into anime shows back then, don’t they? It’s no wonder there are so many similarities between our first anime experiences!

nataliaminnieMinnie: Wow. I was more into the Pokemon games than the cards but I remember a certain uncle gave me Pokemon cards for Christmas. Oh and let’s not forget the Pikachu plushies!

66Hsa: Speaking of forgetting, let’s not leave out our last blogger Ric here. For the GRAND FINALE, his answer is?

anisericRic: Well, I basically got into anime the exact same way everyone else did, with Pokemon, Dragonball, Sailor Moon and whatnot. Though what really got me to where I am now with it was Evangelion, as soon as I watched that I became really fascinated with anime.

nataliaminnieMinnie: >embarassed to say she knows everything about Eva but never watched it< Please don’t hurt me Ric.

aschtaanTaan: You know everything? You’ll have to explain the end and some other stuff to me someday, because it made my head explode. Like Rei did with everyone. I get most of the symbols, but well… we’ll just talk later, ok?

nataliaminnieMinnie: Er…

anisericRic:H-how could you have never watched it?! I thought Eva was one of the few things that everyone cou-

anisericRic: Bu-

66Hsa: NO! Before Ric can hurt Minnie and doom this blog or I hurt Ric and doom this blog as well, I must say it’s been fun with everyone. Thank you for answering my question and until next time, please help yourselves to the cupcakes in the other roo-

Wow, dunno if I can keep up with these many authors…but I’ll be visiting again! ^_^

  5. Minnie Says:

We’ll love to have you around. ^^ Thanks for the comment!

  6. TheBigN Says:

…you guys make me feel old (/me is in 2nd year of med school), but good to see you guys enthusiastic about anime and blogging, and good luck with keeping that up for the future.

  7. Minnie Says:

    Thanks and you’re not old BigN. ^^;; We’re just too young/inexperienced. ;)

  8. Mimiko ♥ Says:

So many blogger O.O! But that’s great though, once you don’t have time, you can always ask other to blog instead (as I notice in those magical swtich :P )!

Great that it was up in 3 months now wooohooo! (and that remind me of when DID I start to read this blog xD! hmm… guess it was during 2nd episode of Hakushaku!)

Anyway, keep it up the good work all of you! Gambatte! :3

  9. Ryan A Says:

    Whoa, energy! Tehe~!

Good to see it. Also, I’m an advocate of editors, and I see a lot of “writer” positions, but never count out the power of editors… just a thought ^^

I will subscribe via feed for now.

  10. omisyth Says:

I’ll definitely be coming back, but there are too many people on one post! It’s like an IRC channel only with images and distractingly pretty colours ^^

  11. Ric Says:

@Ryan A: Indeed! The power of Editors is most definately not to be trifled with!

After all, I’m the protagonist now I hear.
Anyway, I’m glad to see everyone likes HSA. Thanks for the comments! <3

  12. 7 Says:

Holy cow…what a color bunch you have! I’d like to acquire this bunch

Like I said…this is the *ahem* personification of the team blog I never had. T_T. *Grabs co blogger and strangles her*

  13. Minnie Says:

Hi 7! What happen to your co blogger? O_O

  14. Bass Says:

Haha awesome read guys. With such a big group of people, finding someone with the same likes and dislikes would be great for people like me.

Keep up the good work, I’m gonna add you to my anime blogroll now ^_^

  15. foomafoo Says:

Wow, you’ve even converted Sync and Dist to join the party.

Anyway, I heavily prefer Digimon rather than Pokemon and I heavily prefer Pokemon than Yugi-oh. hahaha. Even so, I was able to realize that just lately when I tried rewatching them. If I didn’t rewatched them, I guess Pokemon will remain at the top just like almost all of you have said.

I collect pokemon action figures when I was still a kid and I think they are over 50. lulz.

  16. Steve Says:

To Bass: Oh the difference in likes and dislikes is massive indeed. For example, I am able to watch and thoroughly enjoy Akikan while none of the others did (except for maybe Koala). Thank you for the add.

To foomafoo: Our dictator of a leader is never satisfied with a set amount of writers. I am sure with her abundant charisma (she really has too much for comfort) she can convert ten more writers if she wants to.

I should go and rewatch the old shows to compare. I’m sure Card Captor Sakura will still at the top of my list though. I love that show. :) I believe the reason why Pokemon is such a frequent response has to do with our similarity in age.

I collect Pokemon figures too. :)

  17. Garrick Says:

    Oh, and wait a second. I don’t like cupcakes… -_-

  18. tekky99 Says:

wow o_o, soo many writers. I’d like to blog more series but, alas, i’m a human limited by the time i have >_<
sure i’ll do a blog link exchange:
