Maria Holic Episode 12 FINAL Minnie+Steve Combo: “GYABO!!”
Minnie and Steve: Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei End FTW!
Steve: Since Ric and Oni decided to work together on their last review, Minnie and I decided to finish Maria Holic together too instead of Angel.
Minnie: Angel is behind in Maria Holic and since I love this anime, I want to blog it semi-on time with Steve. Who should take what half Steve?
Steve: I’ll do analysis and screenshots while you do rant?
Minnie: Sounds awesome. Let’s start this shall we?
Steve: Everyone should know by now that I have a crush on Kanako because she is a funny and amazing heroine. Mariya, Matsurika, and God are also amazing characters that need recognition. This is my favorite episode in the entirety of Maria Holic because it centers on Kanako from start to finish. Besides, there are lots of swimsuit shots for a male like me to oggle over. Kanako, I know your pain. Like the other swimsuit imagination episode, I will upload a lot of swimsuit screen shots as well as those with Kanako delight in them.
I see the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei girls! Text messaging girl! Fuura is there too. I love you. Is it just me or do I see Rina from White Album and Yuuko from xxxHolic too? Are my eyes playing tricks on me?
All of the above screen shots never happened in reality; they are created by the warped, perverted mind of Kanako.
The reality is: Everyone has to wear the school swimsuit except Matsurika it seems.
Now to end my half of my review, I would like to show off all the Kanako screen shots I collect this episode because Kanako decides all the love from her fanboys! Kanako, you screw ball, Keep up the good work. Gallery time and Steve out until next season.
Minnie: Wow. I get the last words. Sweet. I like how they end on a SZS note- picking the most exciting event to an anime instead of just wrapping it up with a last-minute deus ex machina. You know which show I’m talking about. Anyways, moving on, I like this episode a lot. It was pretty clever with how they purposely make fun of their own character Kanako. I also like how Shizu came back for one last humiliating scene. I really feel sorry for her. Mariya didn’t get a lot of screen time this episode which sucks because to me, she’s the best thing about Maria Holic! Oh well…

Overall, Maria Holic was fun to watch and it was cute at points, though it doesn’t live up to how brilliant SZS was even if it was similar. The parodies and references are amazing though, but I guess I just don’t like lez jokes as much? Maybe if they do a bunch of gay jokes… Haha, anyways, I don’t regret following this anime all the way through because it’s pretty on my eyes and the jokes are pretty cute. Good show overall and I know I won’t forget it anytime soon!

Maria + Holic was a quiet an entertainting series, but it didn’t live up with the joke like SZS. (though I didn’t really had a high hope for it) I definally didn’t enjoy the overflow of nosebleed. Sometimes it’s really funny, sometimes, is just too much. I also hoped for a plot of KanakoxMariya for some reason, but of course, we’re dealing with SZS people, so I didn’t really had any big hop for it. The side character was pointless for some reason and GOD often bored me! *please don’t curse me god!*
Overall for me I’ll give it: 7.5/10
P.S: Steve.. I have a feeling your eye are playing tricked on you, because this episode is too much for a fanboy to handle XD!

Uhuh no way was i hoping for a kanakoXMariya plot. I wanted the complete opposite. Im a man…and i see nothig sweet about another guy always gettin the girl, thats why i watched this show hopin it wasnt another lesbian was just confused and she ended up bein straight type thing, Ive seen WAY TOO MANY oof those, not hopin for another one.
All that aside, I loved this show!!! Its originality thats lackin nowadays thats why i dont even watch anime anymore, its been so long but this show gave me hope again. Hilarious in every way when konoka got extremely excited, I lived for those moments!!
Sad too see it end but to the creators I LOVE U GUYS, and im definatly goin to get out there and get me the whole series to support more unique shows such as this. 10/10 on every level- Im no critic I speak for myself, this is one of the best animes ive seen ever and because i have a positive and not a boring mind, dont ask me why.
