Typical Game Protagonist- Good or Bad?
Minnie: Who is in charge of this episode? I believe it’s TZM aka Katt. If I remember correctly, this is one of those shows I was not very convinced about when I heard it was adapted from an ero-game or something like that. Anyways, since I am watching almost everything this Spring for first episodes, I might as well check this one out too. Call me a blogging monster all you like, Steve and Tangerine, I don’t care. Another point for the girls~ Tears of Tiara is about angels if I remember correctly. Let’s see if the summary was deceiving or not.
Minnie’s Overall Rating for Episode: 9/10
Minnie’s Anticipation for Next Episode: 9/10
Thoughts: When I heard the OP and the voice, I knew who it was. It was Suara, the singer for the ED song of White ALbum. I’m a fan of her voice but all her songs bore me. This one does as well. That’s one average OP sadly. The ED is slightly better but not by much. I dislike half of the song and like half of it. This first episode is well-done in my opinion. It usually takes episodes after episodes to get to this climatic plot in other anime. However, there is one thing that might annoy me if it goes on- Arthur screaming “Riannon” every other scene. Hopefully, it won’t go the Fushigi Yuugi way where the two lovers scream each other’s name every few minutes. ^^;;

The Demon God change to...

THIS?!
As seen above and from the title of the episode, this first episode is all about summoning the Demon God. Right now, the world is at the Age of Iron. This mad priest is lustful for power so he comes to this village to seize women and children. Maybe Riannon foresaw this and send all the women and children away, leaving herself in the village. Once she confronts the priest, he realizes that she’s no ordinary girl. She’s the daughter of the Elf King or something like that. Anyways, this means that she’s exactly what he’s looking for. He shall use her as a sacrifice to summon the Demon King since he has the coffin and ceremony ready.
In the meantime, the men of the village are off hunting until tomorrow. The one who leads the pack is a boy name Arthur aka Riannon’s brother (whether by blood or not we don’t know). He feels that something is wrong and hurries back to the village. Jumping back to the village now, Riannon decides to kill herself than let him use her life for evil. The priest manages to stop her by threatening the lives of two children that came back to the village to check up on her. In exchange for releasing the children, Riannon agrees to go with him. He asks for her real name. She tells him but the viewers don’t get to hear it. Will it play a role later on? You betcha.
Her brother is now back to find a silent village. Never a good sign. Soon enough, he figures out what happened so he vows to save her as the First Warrior (or whatever that means). In the meantime, the priest is already doing his magic to call forth the Demon God. Riannon doesn’t seem to protest. She seems to have lost all signs of life actually. I wonder if that happens every time she gives up her name to someone? Anyways, much to my disbelief, the Demon God actually does come. Scary at first, he transforms into a white-haired bishie and walks up to Riannon aka his sacrifice. The purpose of this whole thing is for the priest to become ruler of the world with the Demon God’s help. Before the Demon God can do anything to Riannon, Arthur screams out her name and runs up to them.
That’s the end but let me ask you this. Is this the production of lazy production or is this intentional?

Riannon: Before~

Riannon: After~
One more question: Will we be getting incest in this show? =3

I’m guessing saying her ‘real’ name or whatever allowed the priest to put her in a trance or something like that. In any case, I’m guessing that her eyes being like that is intentional to show that she’s not acting under her own will anymore.
It really felt like absolutely nothing happened this episode. I guess I was expecting to meet most of the main cast this episode, but we got Riannon, Arthur, and a bunch of cannon fodder. Plus the priest who obviously will die next episode. Oh and I guess Arawn.
I guess I’m not the only one whose incest alarm bells were set of by “I’m going to save my beloved imouto!” inb4 they’re not actually blood-related
I knew they’re not blood-related! XD The hints were there but whatever.
I thought a lot happened this episode but what do I know? XD I guess we’ll see the rest of the cast later. Btw, I’m a fan of introducing the cast slowly rather than all at once in one episode (didn’t like Clannad’s way of doing it or Saki’s either). That’s just my preference though.
I am going to guess the same thing with the ‘real’ name thing. There will probably be more to it later on.
Why do I seem to attract the series with amibiguous sibling relationships? And by series I mean this one and Vampire Knight. XD They could still be blood-related yet, though!
Based on the ED, the cast is going to be growing a lot! I am excited to get to meet more characters. And to learn what’s up with the demonic bishie.
I’m not really sure what to say about this anime, mainly cuz they have yet to fully introduce the big bad demon king and what his intentions are gonna be. But if you been sealed for thousand of years alittle fun wouldn’t hurt huh? The brother and sister thing, although I’m usually keen on paying attention to those I doubt that in this case its gonna have much importance in the plot here because of the inclusion of the demon who might be the real male(harem) lead. I sincerely hope the demon king isn’t one-dimensional and is nothing like the archetypal shounen hero you can find anywhere, maybe even have a dark-side(wonder if that’s a given).
btw, the first three ages are from Greek legends, if I remember correctly. That’s the only thing that justifies the astrological symbols in the summoning array in my opinion. They are Greek symbols, right?
Oh and this first episode was 100% RPG cliches, executed extremely averagely. And Arthur is an overused name for “heroic brother of the main character” type characters or something like that. I’d have given this episode a 3/10.
