Hello everyone! We’re back again with our next picks! With only five episodes left for a lot of the spring anime, we are now on track with the pacing of the season. In other words, the next five countdown will be out once a week on Friday most likely~ The thing we love about these countdowns is the cooperation between the members to make it possible. Minnie’s Picks:

Sousuke Sagara
Series: Full Metal Panic, Full Metal Panic Second Raid, and Fumoffu
Reason Behind Pick: I have a knack for choosing funny male characters so far eh? This is the third one in a row! Anyways, on the surface, Sousuke might not be the most interesting character in an anime history since his personality is pretty ordinary and his appearance is nothing special. However, Sousuke is one of the most memorable characters in anime history for single-handedly making FMP and its sequels/spin offs successful. He has also made a name for himself in the anime world. Even when he’s not laughing, we’re laughing at/with him and his antics every episode. How does he do it though? Let’s just say when you take someone who thinks like a soldier 24/7 off the battlefield and throw him into every day society, funny things happen. And lots and lots of explosion to boot.

Kagami Hiiragi
Series: Lucky Star
Reason Behind Pick: Here’s my confession. I never finished Lucky Star. I actually only went up to episode 7 or 8 (I don’t remember anymore) but that is enough for me to declare Kagami as one of my favorite female characters of all time. Kagami is hardworking, enduring, endearing, and responsible. If there is one thing I don’t like, it is stupidity or dumb moe. I can’t stand it. Kagami is the complete opposite. Whether she is actually brilliant or not, I do not know. I do know that she tries very hard in everything and that is admirable. Remember all those times I praise Mio from K-ON for being responsible? Kagami is all that without the shyness and a whole lot of stubborn. A great female role model for us females! What is there more to say? Oh! Her family name is registered at a shrine! Cool huh? XD

Garrick’s Picks:

Yukito Kunisaki
Series: Air
Reason behind Pick: Somehow… these KyoAni male protagonists are getting to me. Yukito’s just awesome, really… the way he handles Misuzu… and reacts to her. Oh. And he can control a puppet with no strings.

Touka
Series: Utawarerumono
Reason behind Pick: Kickass with a sword… yet at the same time… adorable. She loves little fluffy animals! SHE LOVES LITTLE FLUFFY ANIMALS!

Ric’s Picks:

Spike Spiegal
Series: Cowboy Bebop
Reason Behind Pick: Well, we enter the second half with a bang, so to speak. (Sorry, sorry.) I honestly have never met anyone who has seen this series that didn’t agree on one thing: Spike is awesome. Now, you may say that’s just the people I asked, but no. Spike is honestly a great character, beginning to end, from his lovable personality to the sheer style he throws all over the place.

Maetel
Series: Galaxy Express 999 (And connected spin-offs)
Reason Behind Pick: I would like to start off by saying that I am not that old, being just 19 years of age (Any who say that this is old will be shot by both me and probably TZM.) but the appeal of characters like Maetel transcends such a massive age gap, with her warm, wise, charming and overall mysterious personality; it’s no surprise that the appeal of this character continues to this day, with there even being statues having been erected in her honour! Now, if that doesn’t make her a shoe-in for any list, I don’t know what does.

Katt’s Picks:

Kazuma Kuwabara
Series: Yu Yu Hakusho
Reason Behind Pick: I’m serious guys. No, really, I am. Kuwabara’s awesome. He’d just never make it onto a ‘top bishies of all time’ list. All of the Yu Yu boys show great character development through the series, but Kuwabara’s really stands out to me as his first impression as a brute becomes combined with the other sides of his personality. He’s not just the tough guy with the hard face; he is a loyal friend, really hardworking when he sets his mind to it, and oh–he luffs his leettle keeetty! Er…he has a cat and loves him. Even if one doesn’t look at Kuwabara’s serious attributes, you can’t deny his contributions to the comedy in the series. He’s hilarious! Everyone likes a man with a sense of humour, right? (Although, I am pretty sure he never actually intends to be funny…)

Kei Enomoto
Series: Hatsukoi Limited
Reason Behind Pick: First of all, I enjoy the irony of putting Kei at the same ranking as Kuwabara. And you thought Kusuda’s looks were problematic, Kei–just take a look at Kuwabara! Kei makes my list because of how believeable a character she is; while some people might find her a horrible bitch at the start, I somehow understood where she was coming from. Before a girl gets a boyfriend, she sets standards in her head that are hard to break. The amazing thing about Kei is that she does look past those standards and she admits it to herself even if she doesn’t say anything to anyone else. She understands herself and, in time, accepts that, thus showing great character development and total believeablility in my opinion.

Reason Behind Pick: Nice pick there Ric. For me, here is my reasoning. You know all those amazing laid-back and cool male characters in anime that girls fangirl over? Spike is the one who revolutionized that character archetype. Plus, look at his awesome hair. Now, I will second Ric in his farewell- see you later Space Cowboy.

Konata Izumi
Series: Lucky Star
Reason Behind Pick: If you can’t tell, I try to make her look as loli as possible. Konata is special in a way because she is so like everyone of us. She likes to play video games/MMORPG and watch lots of anime. Who likes to study anyway? Not Konata and not me either. Since Konata and I have come to an agreement, I decide to put her on my list. Very well-deserved I might add.

Za Warudo Gilgamesh
Series: Fate/Stay Night
Reasoning: Gate of Bablyownage, Enkidu, Enuma Elis, shiny golden armor, uncaring badass attitude… that should be enough.

Kino
Series: Kino’s Journey
Reasoning: She’s a detached observer of the world. She’s skilled enough to border on being a jack of all trades. She’s also cold and distant, which makes for an interesting character in her situation. And there was also that cat festival she got sucked into… that failed and she never joined.

Series: Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Reason Behind Pick: OMGGGGGGGGGG~~~~~~!!!!!!!! It’s KYOYA~!! I love him with a PASSION!!! <33333 He is SOOO cool with his pair of tonfas and he is SOOO hot with his bishie looks and GODLY eyes and he is SOOO sadistic in his thinking and he is SOOO powerful by killing those stupid weaklings of a groupies and and… Gosh, I’m not even THAT far in the Reborn manga but I LOVE KYOYA~~~~~!!!!!!! That’s all you people need to know~

Reason Behind Pick: Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr……. I don’t really like female characters BUT the ones on my list ROCKS because well………… they’re NOT annoying. Tsuruya is NOT annoying because she’s SOOO lovable <33333 She laughs and laughs and laughs~~~~~~ So awesome…… >////< And that high on sugar personality!!!!!!! GOSH, I can SO relate to her… BTW, how can anyone HATE Tsuruya???!!!!!!!! She’s the minor character that everyone can SQUEEE on ^0^

Reason Behind Pick: Despite her clothing, she breaks the female stereotype by liking mechanics. I like girls who knows their ways around tools. Besides, look at my avatar. No brainer.

Reason Behind Pick: He one hell of a butler~ There’s always that air of mystery about him that makes me want to know more about his background and his ulterior motives when Ciel isn’t around. And then there are those moments when he gives that smile that sends shivers down your spine~

Tomoe Yukishiro
Series: Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal AKA Tsukiohen)
Reason Behind Pick: She’s kind and motherly, although she harbors an ulterior motive. Tomoe herself really isn’t anyone that special, but the dynamics of her relationship with Kenshin and the conclusion of the arc involving her really make her memorable.

Oz Bezarius
Series: Pandora Hearts
Reason Behind Pick: What I like about Oz is that he’s pretty chill. Hey, he was sent into the Abyss and wasn’t too bothered and ate some cookies. Beneath the smiles and carefree attitude, he carries some dark secrets, but he takes the rollercoaster of life in a mellow way.  Either way, that picture is bangin’.

Lucy
Series: Elfen Lied
Reason Behind Pick: To be honest, I have only seen the first few episodes of Elfen Lied. However, Lucy left a striking impression. She massacres people and sends gory limbs (and heads!) flying. I couldn’t rant about her being nude; hell, I hardly noticed. Yes, I didn’t notice her boobs, oh shnaps. I was too disturbed, but in a good way. Enticed.

Nowaki Kusama
Series: Junjou Egotist
Reason Behind Pick: The reason I love Nowaki is simple… he’s just so sweet! The way he acts about Hiroki and the things he does for him and says to him are just so romantic, and it makes me wonder why the hell guys like him DO NOT exist in the real world >_< well… not in Leicester anyways…

Tenten
Series: Naruto
Reason Behind Pick: I love Tenten because of her attitude! She just kicks ass to be honest lol and the way she treats Lee is just amazing!! GO GIRL POWER!!! He attack is cool too, plus she’s knows Neji hehehe~ She just represents so much strength for us girlies~
