Minnie: After going through a terrible week and probably another terrible week next week, I feel like blogging this episode is a saving grace. Seriously. Everything is going downhill for me.
It must be because my luck is running out. But of course, it doesn’t matter, does it? Because I am here to blog your late review of Kimi ni Todoke!
Minnie’s Overall Rating for Episode: 10/10
Minnie’s Anticipation for Next Episode: 9/10
Thoughts: What an amazing episode… I’m speechless. Kimi ni Todoke manages to use one of those common shoujo plot devices and make it awesome. Granted, none of this is new or profound to me, but the way it’s executed… is impressive. I haven’t seen such a powerful take on what it’s like to pick up one’s courage and move on from a long-term crush. And man, the way Yano and Sawako are insecure is so realistic… This episode is just plain awesome for taking a shoujo element and making it one of the most memorable episodes for me thus far. Well done.
Fangirling:
Man, I have to say. I enjoy these imagination bubbles. Remember that one where Sawako and Kazehaya are acting all “American”? It’s hilarious. Therefore, that bubble above… like it’s going to happen anytime soon. Not in this shoujo anyway~
Don’t worry, Yano. Most of us make that same mistake sometime.
Especially us girls and our big mouths… >___< On the other hand, it shows how mature Yano is for even thinking back on this thought. Most of us would have forgotten it…
Again. Another sign of maturity from these two. Kazehaya is just amused~
I have to declare today… SOBBING DAY! Kazehaya really wants to comfort Sawako, but since Yano is there… he has to hold himself back. <3
Somewhere out there… a Yano/Kazehaya fan has been born thanks to this scene… ^^;;
Kazehaya gets the spotlight on him right here. Figuratively and literally~
You sure about that, Yano? I’m sure we can pick on the fact that his shyness is still getting in the way of getting together with Sawako by now!
Oh lalalala~ And yes, my shipping goggles are working overtime! <3
Ryuu is still in character and full of win. What a blunt person!
Because obviously we can’t help who we fall in love with… T___T
Yano is showing such a wide range of emotion and faces this time around… Look at the screen shot above and below to see evidence…
Yes, fire of doom… GO!
Sawako is a softie as usual~ I love her and I find her loss in the ISML tourney insulting. >:C But anyways, Sawako is total love. She can’t hold back her sympathy for Yano… at all. Such a wonderful girl. I want to write a character like her some day.
Yoshida wins for having such an awesome crying face and for an awesome reason too for the inner Yoshida/Ryuu shipper in me.
Ryuu probably went after her to return the bread… not to eavesdrop or anything. ^^;;
Yoshida!!!
Omg. This moment made me cry. How many times have this series made me cry?! GOD! I’m such a crybaby for this show. It’s the music I swear… >_< But yeah… Yoshida is mature right here too. All these characters are awesome… period.
The moment when they can finally be useful! In all seriousness, I can empathize with these two and Yoshida so well this time around. I’m one of those people who might get hurt thanks to certain things but rarely complain to anyone. I don’t know what happens after you explode from the overwhelming emotions… but… It’s not healthy. I can tell you that. From experience too.
Yano and her logic bombs own! <3333333333333
Seriously. The bubbles are so cleverly used in this series. They never seem to be in the way or anything. I love it. Instead, they add to the scene which I like. But yeah, this is another one of those friendship moments I love so much. These three girls rock my socks. ^^
What a great way to tell a friend that she’s been helpful in times of need.
What a way to end an episode! I like it! A LOT! Now… for the preview… Tooru will be back. Will Yoshida confess her feelings? <3 We’ll just have to see for ourselves! I can’t wait for next episode!

concerning Sawako being out of the ISML. she is not, at least, not yet. her last chance for survival is tomorrow. phase III of the Pre-lims. she must be in the top three of her group to get into the 2nd round of phase III, and then the top in her 2nd group, then she will qualify
an update concerning ISML. tomorrow’s groups have been announced, and Sawako is in group 13.
Her competitors are:
Shinku from Rozen Maiden
Kawasumi Mai from Kanon
Tsukimiya Ayu from Kanon
Tsuruya from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu
Sakurazaki Setsuna from Mahou Sensai Negima!
Kataoka Yuuki from Saki
also, you can vote for up to 2 girls from each group, so while you can vote for one of those girls above, remember to vote for Sawako as well.
Though I am realistic enough to know that there’s a tiny chance of her making that far and qualifying in the final competition. ^__^ It’s too bad not enough people watch Kimi ni Todoke to vote for her unlike Clannad for example.
true, this round she’s up against to character’s from Kanon, which will have the backing of Key fans, one character from the ever popular Suzumiya Haruhi series, from memory Rozen Maiden is (or was) popular, and Saki isn’t that old.
the manga of Mahou Sensai Negima is on the top 10 most popular over at Manga Traders…
Sawako will have it hard if she wants to pass this round.
the results of round 1 of phase III are out, and sawako didn’t make it. she only got 657 votes, the 2nd least in her group
(though I’m happy about the results in another group, which my Fav Char was in… but that doesn’t really make you guys happy, does it?)
just make a new post about the isml or direct people to the forum post if you want to talk about it, not in the comments
