Gigi has a date... what?!

Gigi has a date... what?!

Minnie: Ristorante updated! Today, I spent some time talking about Honey and Clover with Tangerine. I don’t know if Ristorante will reach the potential of Honey and Clover but so far, so good. I love this anime. It’s so easy to watch and understand. It’s also very endearing. I am so glad I traded Marissa another anime for this anime. Such an awesome trade it is. :) After this, maybe I can sneak off and play some Persona 4! Damn that addicting game…

I prefer Gigi and this episode over a K-ON episode any day!

I prefer Gigi and this episode over a K-ON episode any day!

Minnie: My spring semester is nearly over. I’m not sure if I should stick to last week’s blogging style for this anime or switch to one of my other styles. I kind of like collecting quotes for this anime but I hate typing up a summary. It’s so boring. I’ll probably ditch the summary somehow. I’ll find a way. By the way, HSA is working on a parody on ourselves. I’m the main writer for it and I’m currently working on Chapter 2. This is another one of our projects to show how close we are as a group. I want this team blog to stay always! Anyways, time for Ristorante Paradiso~

Ristorante Paradiso Episode 4: “I Hope This Puts a Smile on Her Face”

The background story to how this ristorante came to be <3

The background story to how this ristorante came to be <3

Minnie: I need to counter-attack the Bearin/TZM combination of loli and vampires with my posts! Ristorante Paradiso, thank you for coming out in time for me to fight off  my teammates for control of the blog. This is when a dictator takes it easy. Her subjects try to work together to overthrow her. I won’t let that happen to me. Oh, besides, I like this anime and I will love to blog it consistently. XP

“I hope this puts a smile on her face.” -Lorenzo

♥ “She’s got what you’d call peculiar tastes… We’ve been planning on opening the ristorante for months, but she collapsed the other day from overworking. So, I’d like to do something for her.” -Lorenzo

My Lovely Quote

A very simple quote that summarizes the entire episode so well. Not only does Lorenzo wants to put a smile on Olga’s face, he has achieved in putting a lot of smiles on other faces by opening this fabulous restaurant. What a meaningful way to title a post and to create a restaurant right? Besides, this quote puts a smile on my face and that is enough to make it the title of this post. You rock, Lorenzo.

“I’m glad I didn’t bring an umbrella. It gives me an excuse to stay a while.” -Olga

♥ “There are plenty of gentleman in town, but a place where you can have a drink and truly be at ease is rare indeed.” -Olga

My Quick Summary

Woot! An easy episode to summarize. In the present, an old acquaintance arrives at our lovely restaurant. He’s a special guest because he once worked here alongside everyone else. He brought his granddaughter with him too. Both of them are waiting on Lorenzo and Olga to eat dinner with them. However, soon enough, the granddaughter is starving and she’s sick of waiting for the other two. She’s young and needs food so the restaurant offers her staff food while the old acquaintance (what’s his name) tell Nicoletta what happen in the past and how the restaurant came to be.

“He’s a brilliant man. He’s incredibly sophisticated. But, he had to quit when his wife got sick.” -Claudio

♥ “When I saw the two of them together that night, I just knew. I knew I’d love this place for a long time to come. This restaurant’s origins go back to the owner’s deep love for his wife.” -Claudio

In the past, the reason why the restaurant was founded was because Olga was sick and was in the hospital. Lorenzo wants to put a smile on her face so he did his best to get people to work at his restaurant. Along with Gigi, he gathered the rest of the members by themselves, almost all of them old and wear glasses except for one particular young man with blonde hair. I think this is obvious but is that young Frio? One of the members of the present restaurant staff is missing. Yup, that’s right. Teo. I am sure we will get his background story later. For now, Olga has the best night of her life at the restaurant’s opening. From then on, the members of the restaurant work together for 20 years. Neat right?

“Just saw this, guys. What do you say? Oh. Forgive my attire. I was out for a job. Let me get my spectacles.”-Vito

♥ “Oh right. They all wear spectacles. It’s no big deal. Don’t worry about it.” -Lorenzo

“H-He’s a complete gentleman… and he’s wearing spectacles!” -Olga

♥ “The fact that you thought of me this much makes me so happy, Lorenzo!” -Olga

My Minnie Ramblings

I am glad they spend a whole episode devoting on the history of the restaurant. I’ve been curious sometime how it came to be and how these guys were picked to work here. It’s fascinating. The back story didn’t disappoint me one bit. I expected it but it was still beautiful. I loved it and I loved the characters more than ever, especially Lorenzo. They looked so hot without glasses too! Nicoletta didn’t get a lot of screen time this episode but that’s okay. It wasn’t necessary for her. I am starting to dislike her mother slightly, but not much. I wish there was a restaurant like that in real life. Gentlemanly waiters are quite a treat don’t you think? I can’t wait for next episode.

Minnie’s Overall Rating for Episode: 9/10

Minnie’s Anticipation for Next Episode: 9/10

I love this cast of characters. Go boys! I mean men!

I love this cast of characters. Go boys! I mean men!

Minnie: Hello everybody! This is my first time blogging Ristorante Paradiso because Marissa has gracefully hand over this anime to me in exchange for Natsuno Arashi. I’m glad because I prefer this anime over Natsuno Arashi any day. Ristorante Paradiso is what I call a dark horse this season because none of the other anime are like it. It’s different in its own unique way. Come on. How many anime are brave enough to show off a bunch of middle-aged men in a reverse-harem-like setting? I thought so.  Anyways, I’ll be using my quote blogging style for this anime. I hope it’s okay with you all! Enough chitchat. Let’s eat~
