Don’t tell me you think I’m always behind on anime like this.

Miken: I needed a reason to get off my rear and watch all the series that piled up during the tail end of school. My problem is that I pick up way too many series and my sense of “I NEED TO FINISH THIS” kicks in after 3-4 episodes and I become almost completely unable to drop it. It takes something especially horrible (like Winter Sonata) to get me to drop a series well into it. However, this season has been marked with a bunch of series I just didn’t feel like continuing. I suppose I’m finally learning my lesson and not watching series that I don’t outright enjoy to at least some degree. Also — thankfully, not all of these episodes were watched at once. It’s more like catching up bit by bit on each series over a rather long stretch of time [I don't do marathons much anymore].

The final battle concludes! Will it live up to the rest of the series?

Katt: Another amazing series coming to an end… such a sad blogging time for me! But unlike Natsume that leaves many questions open, this is a shounen series so it must wrap everything up neatly, right? Let’s go ahead and see if it does that, as well as find out how previous episodes’ events will be concluded. Who will live? Who will come out the hero? Who will surpass gods? It should all be answered in this final episode of Soul Eater!

I can't decide if this is worse than the snake in the dog's mouth or not...

Katt: Isn’t it lovely that I’m actually caught up on Soul Eater now? It makes me happy, at least, because the further you get into this series the more you want to know what will happen next. And with it being so close to the end, you know that there will be some intense stuff going down! This episode admittedly is a big long battle scene, really, but it concludes with some major events…

Katt: But Katt, I’m perplexed; didn’t you leave off Soul Eater at episode 33? What’s this nonsense about being at the most recent episode? Well, after a few weeks of being too busy to do my Friday entries, I decided to just catch up on Soul Eater and start blogging it regularly as the episodes are released. It’s the new episodes that count, right? So to write an entry that explains where the characters are, who’s evil, who’s dead, and what’s going on in episode 47, I will write up an entry outside of my regular style.

Katt: Another Friday, another blog entry on Soul Eater. This time I have watched and written up on four episodes! I really just want to pick up the pace so that I can catch up in time for the last episode, at the very latest. But alas, nevermind that reasoning. There is also the very essential reason that I couldn’t possibly leave this entry off earlier than episode 24. The drama, she is escalating!

Let's stop this facade now, shall we?

Katt: Wow, I just noticed that there are only ten episodes left before Soul Eater ends… yikes! In light of this revelation, I am going to try to pick up the pace in my viewing/blogging of the series. This, sadly, will mean more half-assed miniature reviews-but it will also mean that I will hopefully catch up to the episodes that are airing now. Which is what everyone cares about, right? So from here on until the newer episodes, these are Katt’s half-assed mini-entries on Soul Eater!

Katt: It isn’t an uncommon thing for lengthy anime series to have a few filler episodes here and there. Hell, even some short series contain some fillers, or mostly fillers. These episodes are best summed up as great laughs and little plot-so is it possible for a filler to meet that description and be undeniably epic in nature? To anyone who doubts that the answer to that is ‘yes’, I present to you… EXCALIBUR.

Katt: It’s a Tuesday afternoon, it’s cold and snowy outside, I just downed a mug of hot chocolate, and I don’t feel like doing homework. Let’s watch some Soul Eater, shall we~? Recap: Death the Kid and his weapons, Liz and Patty, have found themselves on a ghost ship while trying to solve the mystery of who or what destroyed an entire town. After figuring that out, they’ve come face-to-face with Crona and Ragnarok, a pair close to achieving the status of Demon God. Kid and the girls have to stop them!
