Octavia:

Yay! It's back!! The first three Kanji Characters I ever learnt lol
Well, with the fall season finally approaching us I was anxiously waiting for Inuyasha to start and I even rushed to watch the Raws and get no sleep last night but, hey, who needs it?
For as long as I can remember Inuyasha was one of those animes that really got me into the anime fandom, I remember getting up at 1:30 in the morning on a school night to sneak down and watch it on Adult swim; getting caught a few times along the way, haha.
Now to jump right into the episode…which pretty much what this episode does as well. The creators do not waste anytime in throwing the audience into the scene showing us Naraku at his castle, clutching Kagura’s heart and speaking with Kanna. Next scene we are shown Kagura looking at Goryomaru who is locked away in his cell.

Oh Naraku....to think I once thought you were sexy
Now time for some Kagome and Inuyasha high school love! Remember how Kagome sucked in school? Yeah, well she still does and I don’t think any extra studying is going to help this girl. As she is looming over her practice test stating a very confusing statement about not understanding about what she is not supposed to be understanding (direct translation) her friends are waiting for her outside; also thinking how she is pretty much doomed to be a housewife. Great friends,eh?
Now this is when Inuyasha comes in ,with a cute purple bandanna on his head to cover his cute ears; I think the bandanna makes him look way too girly but of course we aren’t going for looks here right? Like always he distracts Kagome, she says sit and then her teacher informs her that she did really poorly and Inuyasha carries a broken Kagome home. My question though, is when did Kagome’s friends become so understanding about their “relationship”? For a while she had like four guys going after her….all of whom they knew by name and characteristics XD;;;;

<3 Kagome looks totally evil...I love it
Back to the Feudal Era! I should really be asking my History of Japan teacher to see how accurate this show really is cause I am just that cool!
We are re-introduced to Miroku who is helping Shippou try to transform into himself so he can sneak away and get some time alone…thank goodness Sango is not that dumb. How I wish I could be like her.

<3~~ One of my favorite couples
Another re-introduction! Kouga! Remember him? Weather you loved him or hated him, he is here to stay for a while and is chasing after the demon who is attacking villages and those with shards within their body to give back to Naraku…oh yeah I should’ve mentioned they are still looking after the Jewel shard because Kagome can’t learn to leave things in her shirt and Naraku basically took every single last piece.
Also, a re-introduction of Kohaku! He is seen chasing after a demon, gets wounded, is helped by a son and his father, the son gets possessed, Kohaku runs to go find Kagura where he also meets up with Sango, Kagome and the rest of them for a heart filled reunion.

To think Kohaku...what would your sister think if you died by tentacles?

Look of sorrow for what he has gone through? Or annoyed that now Sango has to deal with a whinny overachieving brother?
Before that happens though, Kagome and Inuyasha return and get attacked by Naraku’s poisonous wasps which eventually leads to a large battle with Moryomaru.

And Kikyo is also still around...I don't like her enough to care
Have I confused you enough? ~.^
Being the first episode is is hard to get everything in order since for me jumping back into this series was a piece of cake, I remembered each character and was super giddy to see Sesshoumaru. I would love to point out now that I am a huge Sesshoumaru fan and if need be I will post a whole section on just what happens to him in each episode, even if it is just him blinking! For many though it comes as a big mess from where the show left off, unless you had been following the manga getting back into this may be difficult and remembering a few characters may be tough but I think that the character will show themselves more and more as it goes on.
The soundtrack is wonderful! It hasn’t changed and for me, personally, that is a good thing, I loved the Inuyasha soundtrack; I couldn’t fall asleep without it so hearing the lovely instrumentals that I had grown to love once again, it made my heart gush. The opening is done by the newly reconstructed band Do As Inifinity; they were the ones that did the second ending. It is light and popish which I wasn’t expecting it to be anything different but I really do prefer the ending song. I am excited to see which other artists’ work will appear in the opening and endings.
The animation is anything but flawed; the colors are solid and stand out and it looks like it wasn’t drawn out of a tenth grade classmate. I think that is what brought the appeal to many to re-watch the show…because it is shiiiinnnneeeyyy~ Rumiko Takahashi has such a distinct style that you know it is is her work when you are watching/reading it. By showing the effort they put into the animation is shows that there is a high budget for this anime.
Bringing back the voice actors really made a difference unlike fullmetal where I could barely tell that Roy and Armstrong were different. Inuyasha would not be Inuyasha without Kappei Yamaguchi playing as him. And Sesshoumaru is sooo dreamy….*starry eyed*

He is the reason why I still love this series and will keep watching...and Miroku but FLUFFY! <3~~~
Overall:
My conclusion to this is that I am quite satisfied with the Inuyasha series and how it has been brought back. For fans of the show and manga, I would like to say they wont be disapointed and for those who weren’t a fan of the show to begin with…well I can say you probably wont like it now either. Inuyasha holds a special place in my heart….I say this as I stare at my Miroku plushie on my desk. I enjoyed the style and the feel of the previous series and I like to say that this revival has done nothing but remained true and give me the same feeling. Inuyasha is a classic and I look forward to watching and expressing it as the series goes on
