Oh em gee, here comes superman to the rescue!
Night: Hello H,S,A! I’m your host for this blog post, Night. Also, I just joined the staff, or whatever you think of them, on here, and I hope to blog about anime that are preferably newer than 2004…..Anyways. I shall be blogging Seiken no Blacksmith otherwise known as The Sacred Blacksmith, which started airing on October 3rd, 2009. A 12 episode anime judging from other sources. Here goes my first blog post:
The show starts off with the typical ancient times swordsman saving a woman of the same time from a creature that appears to be a one-eyed spider, made of crystal. To be honest, I don’t know what the hell that thing was. I guess we’ll leave it at that. Anyways, judging from the setting, this anime is somewhat similar to Valkyria Chronicles. Heck, even the main heroine’s were/are wearing the same outfit. Even though A-1 Inc. and Manglobe have nothing in common. *Shrug*, maybe it’s just a coincidence.
The heroine is a girl who boasts about her family’s status, her sword, and her strength every time she meets someone new, or is about to fight. Even though, on the inside, she’s just a mere wanna-be. Apparently, the first actual battle she had been in was the one we witness. Everyone thought she was cool, but poor little Cecily got owned by the salvation-hunter, or otherwise known as, the random mad guy. The good news is, the typical swordsman mentioned in the beginning comes to her rescue. His name is Luke. Surprisingly, his puny sword “SKILLFULLY” cuts the random mad guy’s sword, while Cecily’s sword just lays broken in half. Wow, how unrealistic.

Oh, look who just noticed.

Never knew metal could fight metal and actually break it into pieces.. Er, wait, it can..
Anyywhhooo, Cecily takes her sword to the blacksmith, where she refuses to repair her sword because it’s been passed down in her family. A name suddenly comes to her mind. The name being….yes, you guessed right. Luke. Luckily, someone knew his address, and gave it to Cecily, who then ventured through the town to look for his house. A moment later, she’s at their doorstep. Oh, how convinient. Luke came at the doorstep the moment Cecily arrived!

Hey! Is this fate or what?! I happened to step on your lawn the moment you came out!
This must be FATE! …>..> She asks Luke to make her an “indestructible sword” and to “look at her”, which leads to a rather perverted conversation, interrupted by the ringing of some random bells. Upon arriving at their destination, they’re notified of being attacked by bandits by a man who’s extremely injured. This is where I’m confused. The bandits are supposed to be overgrown cats/wolves? I don’t even know what they are. >.>

Why are you so angry, Mr. whatchamacallit?
On a random note. For those Chrome Shelled Regios fans out there, it seems that Luke’s Seiyuu is the same as Layton’s. Luke also HAPPENS to be good with swor – er, katanas. Anyways, after Luke’s defeated the overgrown cats single-handed, we see a couple of dudes talking in the forest, or rather, plotting their next scheme/attack. After that, the same one-eyed spider mentioned in the beginning appears. Luke announces that he’s made a contract with the devil. (Note that we do not know who that ”he” is.) [Pandora Hearts/Darker than Black, much?] The demon appears, and the great Luke’s sword breaks with a bit of crystal hitting it. Luke then decides that it’s time to “forge the sword”. With a blink of an eye, his assistant, who appears to be an elf, [Note the long ears..] creates a magical circle. Luke recites the recipe to making a sword. And, woalah! The sword appears right in his hand. Never knew swords were so easy to create! This must be modern technology. o.o…..

- This just in: Mankind is progressing rapidly.
