Steve: At HSA, we are having all the bloggers grab whichever first episode they want to grab. In this case, I will gladly grab KyoAni’s anime for this season- K-ON. The main blogger will be Oni for this anime but since this is a competition for first episodes, I will join in the fun. Will K-ON keep its up to par animation and music for this anime? We’ll see. The first episode determines all!

Minnie: I am so late. I don’t even know why. I guess there is a part of me that believe that Koala will review this anime but he didn’t so here I am. I watched this weeks ago but I can whip something up at the last minute. Since I am back in college, I have less time to review animes but that’s all right. I’ll keep up with my solos and primaries at least. Anyways, let’s take a peek at Hyakko’s two-part finale.
Minnie: Ah. I believe Hyakko has finished airing and it is about time the subbers are catching up on episodes. Hyakko has the same problem as Kuroshitsuji I swear! Anyways, I might not sound too enthuiastic about this review because I am going through something right now. But by tomorrow, I should feel better. Anyways, is this the Sensei’s centric episode? I hope so.
Minnie: Usually, Koala likes to blog Hyakko but since Index and Quartet are out on the same day, I will sub Hyakko for him because I watch Hyakko as well. After weeks of waiting, Episode 9 is finally out. These fansubbers are slow aren’t they? I’m not complaining though. It’s the Christmas season after all. Anyways, enough chitchat, let’s see what our girls are up to this (late) week.
Here I am again, this time, with overall thoughts of the first half of this season. Not like Minnie’s post, I won’t be giving numbers for each category. As for now, I’ll just keep it un-valued, and keep them relative to each other. This is because some anime will be longer than others, and stories, characters, and other things may develop later on in the season. Some anime are 13 episodes, some 26, and some more.
First, a number of points I need to make about this season…
Garrick: Heh. I’m back. Forgive my (probably) lack of enthusiasm as compared to Minnie’s normal reviews, but… for various reasons that I don’t even fully know, I’ll be reviewing this episode. Whether Minnie decided to make this into a team review, or decides just to watch the episode is up to her. (more…)
Minnie: Great news everyone! After the last post, we are up to 100 posts now! This is post number 101! In order to celebrate this (or not), I am writing a double episode review for Hyakko. Isn’t that neat? Or is it just a coincidence that Hyakko decides to release both of its subbed episodes at once? No matter the reason, I am happy to get a dose of plotless comedy this week after all the dark stuff I’ve been watching. Yes, Skip Beat, you count as dark stuff. Haha. The episode starts off with Sensei…
Minnie: Wait a second… the season is half over already?! I can’t believe how fast it went by! I’m overwhelmed here by how much Hey, Say, Anime has done so far. Sure, we’re new but we’ve done more in this short amout of time than a lot of “absent” anime blogs in my opinion. Our party keeps growing with new members too. I welcome TAAN or Ta’an to our happy family as Asch. He is still indecisive on what animes he want to team review with but for solos, he’s tackling on Chaos;Head and Kurozuka. Neat huh?
As many of you who have followed me thus far with my reviews (thank you very much btw!), you know I am very wordy. I am full of fluff in my reviews. Therefore, this supposedly short review will probably be longer than I want it to be. If you still want to know what Minnie thinks of this season thus far…
Minnie: Hello one and all! I must say that even though I don’t track this anime like the rest, I’m pretty shocked to find it being subbed so slow this week. It seems like forever before this episode makes its appearance. I’ve been looking forward to this episode somewhat because of the appearance of Miss Delinquent, who seems like my type of character. Again, I have no idea if my partner will be reviewing this or not. He’s been gone for a long time… I don’t know what’s the deal with him and real life. I’m sure he’ll be more than happy to review this since he likes this anime more than I. In any case, the episode starts off with a quote which really means to look past the exterior of others and appreciate them for whatever their personalities may be… cute or not…
Minnie: I am happy to announce that a new blogger will be joining Garrick and I under the name of Ric. Yes, Garrick and I found him in the outskirts of Malkuth and roped him in. Kidding! Or am I? Anyways, he will be joining us in co-reviewing Hakushaku to Yousei or The Earl and the Fairy as well as Clannad: After Story. It is still undecided if he wants to three-way review with Toradora and Tales of the Abyss but that’ll be great! By the way, Ric, you are Anise up there. I call Natalia so Garrick must be stuck with Tear (which suits him since he’s so stoic and responsible but likes cute things… please don’t kill me… ^^;; ).
Garrick: Hey, I’m fine with Tear. Anyway, I hope you all welcome Ric, okay? Three is better than two. I think. Or should that have been “The more the merrier”?
Minnie: Another important change that a lot of you guys might have noticed is that both Garrick and I have agreed to drop Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka. And since Ric hasn’t said anything about it, I can assume he will not be blogging it either. Again, I am sorry for those who are following our reviews on AkaSaka but I simply have too many animes on my hands and I am willing to drop those I don’t want to waste an hour blogging for. Actually, there are a lot of animes I want to review for but don’t have time for thanks to AkaSaka. Now, I can make way for those.
Minnie: Another important change for myself is that I will be co-reviewing ~ef~ tales of melodies along with Koala Bear- I mean Garrick. Even though I admit that I haven’t watched ~ef~ tales of memories I understand the storyline enough to review it with no high expecations. I might not type the best reviews but I can help with a supporting opinion and a second rating, especially for those who haven’t watched season 1.
Garrick: Yeah. I’m still mad at you for that. You DROPPED “a tale of memories”. At the first episode! *sighs*
Minnie: The last important change is that I will be picking up Ga-Rei: Zero. I know four episodes have been out so I’m willing to continue blogging from Episode 4 and onwards with a couple of references back to the first three episodes. If either Garrick or Ric want to review this anime with me, please let me know and I will change this solo to a team review. I might pick up TYTANIA later since it intrigues me with its political storyline. As for Shugo Chara, I will probably watch it but not blog it. Haha, that’s all!
Garrick: Well, for me… as you all should know my now… I have a LOT of work, but, I may as well say that I may… very slightly may… pick up Kyou no Go no Ni. The anime that I’m not TOO fond of may take a lot longer to review than it would otherwise. Unlike the first week or so of the reviewing, I could take up to a week to review something. I’ll give a list, just so you all know.
Clannad After Story: 1-2 days
Kuroshitsuji: 1-5 days
Nodame: 1-3 days
~ef~ a tale of melodies: As soon as I darn can
Hyakko: 1-2 days
ToraDora: 1-4 days
ToA: 1-2 days
Yozakura: 1-3 days
To Aru Majutsu no Index: 1-2 days
Minnie and Garrick: Kuroshitsuji, Nodame Cantabile Paris, ~ef~ tales of melodies, and Hyakko
Minnie and Ric: Hakushaku To Yousei
Garrick and Ric: Clannad: After Story
Possible Minnie, Garrick, and Ric: ToraDora! and Tales of the Abyss
Minnie: Vampire Knight Guilty, Skip Beat!, and Ga-Rei: Zero
Garrick: Yozakura Quartet and To Aru Majutsu no Index
Ric: Linebarrels of Iron, Casshern Sins, Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens, Gundam 00 Season 2, and Chaos;Head
