Minnie: Sorry guys. Due to a lot of work this weekend for my dear Koala bear, he won’t be blogging as fast as usual. It’s fine though! Minnie has more than enough energy to keep up the pace for him or at least for the teamed up reviews! I just hope he’ll be back and running before ~ef~ tales of melodies episode 3 because I might have to blog that in his place… Haha, joking Koala if you’re reading this! Anyways, the subbers for Tales of the Abyss are fast this week! 2 days in and a subbed episode already. The people who are subbing for Kuroshitsuji should learn a thing or two from these guys…
Minnie: Because I am behind in my writing, I am watching this episode first and then writing my comments down later. It might sound different from my usual entries but I hope it’s not too distracting. If my memory serves me correct, this should be the episode where you meet two more God-Generals under the name of Dist and Sync. And remember Tear is injured last episode so let’s see how fast they’re going to go through the dungeon from the game. I heard from multiple sources that it will be different than the game from this episode onward but let’s sit back, watch, and comment later all right?
Minnie: Heck. Forget it. I believe this blogging thing has become a habit for me. I can’t just sit and watch without typing everything done before I forget. Lousy memory here? Basically, Tear can heal herself so she did. As for Luke, he’s kind of upset about what she did but she assured him that he’s a civilian and she’s a soldier so it’s her duty to protect him, etc. I like Tear a lot more in the anime than the game. Maybe it’s because Yukano is such a lovely VA? I hated the game’s VA for Tear with a passion! It seems like Anise is okay as well and has confessed her love to Luke already. XD That cute, little gold-digger that I won’t hate yet until the later part of the game. Already, some foreshadowing for Guy’s past. Oh Jade. I love you <3
Minnie: I am giggling like a crazy Jade fangirl at his amusing comment at Luke during the monster battle. Also, it’s quite cute to see how much Guy cares about Anise without ever meeting her. Hehe. Anise and her double-face personality is so much better in the anime than the game. XD You really have to appreciate the VA for her in this one. But yeah, Guy finds her scary now after her hugging Luke. I love you Guy. But yeah, Anise, Luke, and Tear have no passports. What to do… what to do… Vaan is here so of course he can let them in! Yeah! Tear is not after him cause of the commotion business. Anyways, the next scene jump to them being indoors and talking about this war that is about to break out between Ion and Vaan mostly.
Minnie: Here comes the story about the Score, Yulia, and the Seventh Fonstone. I don’t want to summarize so if you want to know what it is, watch the episode yourself. But all in all, the fonstones tell about the future and if you have claims to it, you will know what will happen to you and everyone around you. A lot of people are looking for it, including Tear (maybe). Anyways, finally, we get to meet the infamous Dist! There’s Asch, Arietta, and someone in the shadows- you guys will know soon enough. Short scene indeed and it cuts back to the main party. Now, Luke is on his way to get back home to his country- an ocean away. However, a certain Gloomietta (I love that nickname) has attacked the ships and took an engineer capable of repairing them captive in order to take vengence against Luke/Ion for killing the Ligers. All under Asch’s orders? Not Vaan’s? The mystery continues!
Minnie: Vaan says they should ignore this and let him deal with Arietta. Screw Vaan, says the cast. We’ll save the hostage ourselves- everyone for their own reasons. A relunctant Luke agrees to go after Guy mentions that the captive place, Choral Castle, is where Luke is found after his kidnapping. He wants to regain his memories after all. I laugh when Anise latch herself onto Luke, only to have Guy jump backwards. This happen a second time, except Anise literally grabs onto Guy himself and causes him to react in a violent manner, throwing in a flashback about a girl. Guy admits he has a missing memory- the one about when his whole family dies. Tragic stuff.
Minnie: The next scene is pretty epic and a bunch of screaming and such. Luke is taken away. Arietta and Anise are about to engage in a catfight, revealing that Anise is a puppeteer and Arietta’s mother is the Liger Queen who they killed not so long ago. Arietta lost her parents to the previous war and was raised by that same monster so all of this was for revenge, which I think I accidentally revealed earlier. Luke is being held in this shiny machine thingy where Dist and Sync are working on him. I must admit that I really dislike Dist’s voice in comparison to his game version. However, I must praise Sync’s voice. It’s a lot better than in the game’s. The two are hoping to get data converted before Luke is rescued. The other characters are fighting against the monsters that obey Arietta. The gang beats Arietta and Jade is about to kill her, only to be stopped by Ion. Remember that cat fight earlier? Guess who Arietta and Anise were catfighting for?
Minnie: I LOVE DIST’S CHAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want his chair. I want his chair. I want his chair. >< Anyways, Dist leaves the scene with a disc on Luke’s data. Before Sync can get his copy, Guy slashes his mask off, to reveal? We don’t know yet. Sync runs off without trying to fight the gang. At the sight of the machine, Jade loses his composture slightly. They decide to run the disc that’s left behind to see what’s up. After this, we see the engineer returned to his buddies, Arietta imprisoned with her liger, and Vaan talking to Luke like they’re father and son. However, Jade, Guy, and Tear have suspicious expressions on their faces at the end. And that’s it. Episode over! OMG OMG OMG! Natalia is back next episode! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
